Frequently asked questions

Is Google Forms anonymous?

Google Forms can collect answers without recording email addresses if email collection is off and questions do not ask for identifying details. Limit to 1 response requires sign-in, but Google says usernames are not recorded unless email collection is enabled. Organization restrictions and file uploads can also require sign-in. Free-text details, small groups and submission timing can still identify someone. Read our Google Forms anonymity guide for the settings and official sources. Read the full settings guide.

Can I reply to someone anonymously?

TellSafe Anonymous Relay supports a continuing conversation while keeping the member's relay address hidden from the organizer. A basic Google Form collects answers; emailing someone directly requires their address. Choose based on whether you need a one-way suggestion box or private follow-up.

When is Google Forms enough?

For a basic suggestion box or survey, Google Forms can be a good fit. Check email collection, access and sharing settings, avoid identifying questions, and explain who will review responses.
